Hawker Fare

In an effort to cut cost, Glenn and I decided to have hawker fare instead of dining at restaurants. So here's two collages of our dinner for the past two weekends!

Let me just highlight 2 of the dishes we had at Redhill Hawker Centre

Pork cutlet from Curry Rice (4.5/5)

I had no idea what to eat because there was so many choices! Woes of eating out at a hawker centre. Walked past the Curry Rice stall and Glenn exclaimed, "Must try the pork cutlet!" My instincts told me to join the queue and I ordered egg and brinjal along with the must-try-pork-cutlet. The verdict? The pork cutlet reminds me of home. (':

Honeydew Sago from Qing Tian Hot & Cold Desserts (5/5)

While Glenn was queuing for desserts, I was deeply amused by the uncle at the stall whose actions fit to the techno music that was playing. His actions all got tempo! Plus, his stall plays Hokkien songs, perfect for Glenn. Haha!

Qing Tian's Honeydew Sago is much sweeter and ..... You know it's really good when we finished everything and what left us is a SHIOK feeling. I bet the rest of the desserts are equally nice, if not why got long queue!!! :D

On the previous weekend, it was my last day of work at MGS. Glenn brought me to Bukit Timah Food Centre since it was nearby. Not bad, he did his homework. :p

He Zhong Carrot Cake (4.5/5)

I have always thought that white fried carrot cake doesn't taste as good as the black ones. It was my first time trying a white one and I actually quite like it! One look at the nice golden brown crust and you know this carrot cake is going to be awesome!

Peter Pan Western Food (4.5/5)

Nothing to shout about Glenn's chicken chop, so moving on to my grilled fish! The fish is very fragrant, and you can really feel that it is very fresh. First bite into it and you really feel invigorated. An ambrosia by hawker standards I would say. It is a must try!
