The Coastal Settlement

The Coastal Settlement has been on my list for quite some time but I haven't had the chance to visit it because it was really out of the way. But because Glenn was booking out (for the first time since his 2 weeks of confinement), I took the opportunity to bring him along to check out this place!

Unless you drive, the only bus service that operates along the road is 29.

We were there on a Friday evening and even though the restaurant looks empty, most of the tables were already reserved. So glad that I was smart enough to reserve a table for both of us beforehand.

Really love how all the vintage pieces are all over the place yet they never seem out of place! They simply fit in so nicely with the theme of the restaurant. It is like walking in a museum and you will definitely find something that interest you wherever you explore.

I wonder how they lift the Vespa onto the 2nd shelf ...

The Coast Salad - $16 (5/5)

THAT SAUCE IS PERFECT. It is somewhat similar to the Yu Sheng sauce, with a slight nutty taste. Everything in the jar tasted so good with it! The cocktail prawns were so fresh and the small strips of pork complements it so well. Even Glenn, who isn't a vegetable lover, finished most of it.

A plate of healthy and yummy goodness!

Truffle Mushroom Fettucine - $21 (4.5/5)

I like that the truffle oil is not overpowering, yet strong enough for me to taste it. The shaved parmesan cheese blended in quickly as I mixed everything. The mushroom also tasted really flavorful! Even though I'm quite a mushroom lover, I'm not a cream based kind of person, so the dish was wiped out with the help of Glenn.

Prawn Aglio Olio with XO Sauce - $22 (4/5)

From the way Glenn finished this dish when I was only halfway through mine (or maybe because army has trained him to finish his food fast), it must be really delicious. But Glenn says that the dish was rather okay though the prawns were really huge and fresh.

Tall glass panels to let in the sunlight. What a lovely spot!

Check out the window panes! Reminds me of my secondary school days.

Taking a walk after a very satisfying dinner.

Here's an irrelevant polaroid of us, haha!

Nothing to pick about the service here, or maybe it was because there were not much patrons at the time we were there. But nevertheless, we were pretty impressed with their service.

What more could we ask for about the ambiance? We could stay there the whole day! This is truly one of the place that we would recommend our friends to come.
