PasarBella at The Grandstand

With more than 30 stalls, PasarBella is an open concept market at The Grandstand. Other than groceries and food, there are a variety of other specialty shops that sell products such coffee, cheese (yes, cheese wheels), wine, and a few other novelty shops that sell art and even fragrances. This post is put together after 3 visits (also why I can't remember the prices for most of the food featured here), so you can see how much we love this quaint place.

Neon signs add a rustic touch to the marketplace.

The hot favourite Seafood Paella from Le Patio in its monster size pan.

You would not miss this stall for sure! This is the one that most of the patrons were queuing up for so we just had to try for ourselves! Not sure if the paella was served hot, because after buying, we walked around to buy some other food and by the time we settled down to nom on our paella, it was not hot. But the seafood was really tasty and fresh.

We also got the Honey Glazed Pork Ribs from Nana's Kitchen to try. The ribs were lightly charred and the beautiful glaze made us ridiculously hungry even after downing the huge portion of paella. Even though the ribs were very sweet, it was equally as tough and difficult to chew. Definitely not suitable for Nana.

On two of our visits, we ordered Sea Salt Carribean Deli's Pulled Pork Sandwich ($14) which we could not stop ooohing and mmming about! Accompanied with a pile of greens, the chef put together this sandwich by stacking a generous portion of pulled pork, cream cheese and onions between two thick slices of bread. Good for sharing!

One simply does not walk past Keith Crackling Roast and not be drawn to their Roast Pork Belly ($8). There were two choices of sauces - apple sauce and mustard sauce, to dip in. We easily agreed that the crackling pork roast went better with the apple sauce, although the pork was tasty even on its own.

And here is Glenn's favourite! He never fails to leave PasarBella without an ice pop (maybe because the server is a cute girl) from Popaganda. So far, he has tried Straight-Up Raspberry and Banana Dark Chocolate and has nothing but praises for them.

Stop by Oceans of Seafood for fresh seafood with fishes with eyes bigger than my toes and crabs bigger than my face. We are very sure the seafood you see there are fresh and alive because one of the clams closed its shell when a patron attempted to put his hand near it.

If we had to describe PasarBella in one word, we'd say it's like a carnival. A mismatch of shops come together to form a place full of wonders, surprises and great food.
